The Atlantic coast of France offers some challenges for yacht charterers and water sports enthusiasts.
This sailing region is known for the dangerous tidal currents and also for the – sometimes – not very friendly weather conditions.
The French Atlantic coast is a breath-taking area with good marinas and harbours.
The western Atlantic coast of France can be divided into four zones: the Normandy, the Cotentin peninsula, Brittany and the area starting from Bordeaux.
Yacht charter can be found almost everywhere on the Atlantic coast of France, although most of the charter companies have settled in the area of Brittany.
In Brittany you can also find the largest centres for yachting and very well named shipyards.
The area around Bordeaux is (maybe) less interesting for the yacht charterers, but offers stunning beautiful picture motive … long sandy beaches, forested coasts and unfortunately there are not a lot of marinas and harbours.
Workshops for repairs, spare parts for yachts and small maintenance shops can be found along the whole coast line.
Should it really be a major repair or maintenance work, it is recommended to go to one of the major centres.
