Yacht charter and sailing in Croatia

Croatia is certainly one of the most popular yacht charter destinations in the Mediterranean. The popular area on the Adriatic coast attracts yachtsmen and motor boaters from all over the world.

With 1 823 km of mainland coast, 718 islands and another 4 012 km of coastline, clear blue water, Croatia is a dream to go sailing. Whether you want to go from bay to bay, or participate in a regatta event … for everyone is the right available.

The charter season starts in April and runs until October, July and August are the high-season months – during these months it is usually difficult to find a suitable mooring place.

Due to the long (historical) connection with Rome and later with Venice the Adriatic coast holds a considerable number of historical monuments and buildings. One of the most famous buildings is located in Korcula – the birthplace of Marco Polo.

Since Croatia became independent, the country got a very good development … shops, good infrastructure, restaurants, marinas, hotels and bars etc.

Weather conditions

The Croatian coastal region is characterized by a Mediterranean climate with hot summers. July and August are here the warmest months, where the temperatures can also be more than 30°C.

The famous Bora – a local northern wind – can be very strong and you should take care that you will stay in a safe port.

Entry and exit formalities

EU citizens (exception: Greek citizens) do not need a visa to enter Croatia. All other nationalities need a valid visa, which can be applied upon arrival.
